The Houston Sting dealt the Palm Beach Bums a 6-5 loss at Woodland Park. Hirokichi Fujimoto was the star on offense. He went 2 for 2 with 2 singles and 3 walks. Houston reliever Rikyu Sakuma picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Alberto Rodríguez shouldered the loss. Jason Graves picked up the save for Houston, his 2nd of the year.
Had Fujimoto not come through in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have changed. Instead, with two down, Fujimoto drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Sting never looked back after taking the 5-4 lead.
Fujimoto called the triumph "a good team win."
The loss drops Palm Beach to 1-4.
