Sting Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Bums
Benefiting from Declan Ringer's productive game, the Houston Sting downed the Palm Beach Bums, 9-6. Ringer went 4 for 5 with 4 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Sting. Reliever Juan Carlos Baraja picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. José Romero took the loss. Jason Graves got the save, the 1st for him this season.

Had Hirokichi Fujimoto not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Fujimoto hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Sting.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Fujimoto told reporters after the game.
