Great Day for Salas in Sting Win
Opening day festivities have begun throughout the league. Fans of the Bethesda Hornets were eager to watch John Curnew square off against Sigfrid Arnim of the visiting Houston Sting. In the end, the Sting won the game, 11-4, with José Salas earning player of the game honors. Sigfrid Arnim, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held the Hornets to 3 runs on 5 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 2. Maresuke Ageda locked down his 1st save.

Salas hit a 2-run single in the top of the second to help the Houston cause. The single, which was hit off John Curnew, allowed Houston to take a 2-0 lead.

"We've got a great group of guys," Salas said, "and we're having fun right now."
