Eagles Deal Dancin' Outlaws Painful Loss
Crowds lined up early in front of The Aerie, eagerly awaiting the start of the 2028 SINGLE A season. On the mound was Rubén Sánchez for the visiting West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws and Toin Hara for the hometown Whitewater Eagles. In a spirited contest, the Eagles pulled out the win, defeating the Dancin' Outlaws by the score of 2-1. Earning player of the game honors was Rubén Sánchez.

Jim Unknown had the critical at-bat for Whitewater. With one out in the bottom of the tenth inning, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It gave Whitewater the 2-1 walk-off win.

"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Unknown told the Whitewater Citizen. "You win just by scoring more runs."
