The Austin Hipsters beat the Beach City Seals, 7-4, at Silvery Lane Field. Austin shortstop Nick Wedemeyer earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 1-2 with 2 walks and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 runs. With the win, Austin improves its record to 1-1.
Marvin Brown's at-bat in the top of the fifth was significant, coming with the bases loaded and the game tied, 2-2. The Austin right fielder hit a 2-run single off Jack Barrett to put the Hipsters up.
