Despite a fine performance by right fielder Akihisa Tamura, the Stroudsburg Shade suffered a 12-7 loss to the Springfield Capitals. Tamura went 2 for 4 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5. Jeff Campbell, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held Stroudsburg to 4 runs on 1 hit over 6 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts.
