Storm Troopers Topple Rats with Late Rally
|
San Antonio starter Steve Ferguson pitched effectively against the Rock River Rats at The Rat Hole. The right-hander led his team to a 4-2 win. Ross Astbury got credit for the win, improving to 3-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. San Antonio is now 64-47, 9˝ games up in the Ford Frick League Junction Jack Division.
Misao Fujii had the most critical at-bat for San Antonio. With no one in the top of the ninth inning, Fujii hit a 2-2 cutter from Tsuyoshi Tadokoro for a run-scoring single. It put San Antonio in front, 3-2.
"Feels good to get the job done," Ferguson said after the game.
