The Hops had to overcome a fine effort from Minnesota pitcher Donkal Ubriani to grab a narrow 4-3 win at The Brew Stade. Ubriani went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 earned run. San Diego, now 3-2, has gotten their season off to a good start.
San Diego's win came gift-wrapped. With two out in the bottom of the tenth, with the game tied, Ricardo Romo reached on an error by the P, driving in 1 run.
"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Romo. "Just do my job."
