Snaps Lay Egg, Lose 14-2 to Phoenix
|
The Phoenix Lights topped the Cincinnati Snaps, 14-2, in Ford Frick League action at UFO Field. The player of the game was Phoenix pitcher and North Lauderdale, Florida native José Castro. Castro went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 3, and struck out 5. His record improves to 9-3. The Lights are now 66-43, while the Snaps fall to 45-64.
Early in the game, shortstop Wilson Ortíz had a 2-run home run for Phoenix. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Lights on top, 2-0.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Ortíz told the Phoenix Gazette.
