Gabriel Lifts Storm Troopers to 17-7 Win
|
Alejandro Gabriel added some punch to the San Antonio offense, helping them outmuscle the Sandy Springs Spartans, 17-7. In the game, Gabriel, who is tied for 5th in the FFL in triples with 5, went 3 for 5 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. The winner was Noritoshi Hayashi, who threw 96 pitches over 5 innings. The left-hander was charged with 4 runs on 5 hits. San Antonio is now 58-46.
With the bases loaded and one out in the top of the eighth inning, left fielder Jeff Armstrong delivered big for the Storm Troopers. San Antonio was leading 13-6 when he belted a grand slam home run.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Armstrong.
