The Wichita Wolverines and Boise Hawks were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd at Howling Park.

The Boise Hawks bested the Wichita Wolverines by a score of 7-4, with shortstop Carlos López getting the main credit. On the day, López was 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Hawks. Hou-kang Li earned the save, his 23rd, for the Hawks.

The game turned with two out in the top of the fifth when López, who was drafted in the two round of the 2025 draft, hit a 2-run home run. It propelled the Hawks into the lead, 4-2.

"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Wichita manager Clyde Bowman. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."

The Hawks saw their win-loss record go to 38-66. At the same time, the Wolverines fell to 51-52.
