The Boise Hawks topped the Wichita Wolverines, 4-1, in Ford Frick League action at Howling Park. The player of the game was Boise pitcher and Southampton, England native Eddie MacClung. MacClung picked up the win for Boise, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 4-11. Hou-kang Li earned the save, his 22nd, for the Hawks.
Tatsuzo Tanaka contributed to the Boise win. The 22-year old catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the third. For the game, Tanaka went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," MacClung told the Boise Times.
The last-place Hawks improved to 37-65.
