The Long Island Ducks had to overcome a big game from Spokane right fielder Sergio Carbajal to leave Long Island Stadium with a 4-1 victory. Carbajal was 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk. Long Island reliever Moritz Kenter picked up the win, upping his record to 7-1. Leonilde Maio took the loss. Long Island now sits at 48-54, while Spokane falls to 57-47.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, center fielder Darren Payne came through big-time for the Ducks. With Long Island leading 2-1, he belted a solo home run.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said Spokane skipper Wayne Barnes, "and it cost us."
