Cornhuskers Fall to Beehive, 6-2
|
DeKalb pitcher Tetsuzan Ichihara gave the Beehive all they could handle, but in the end, Madison left Earl Campbell Stadium with a 6-2 win. Ichihara allowed no earned runs on 2 hits over 5 innings. Max Adriaens picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-3. John Patterson was tagged with the loss. Madison is in third place in the Ford Frick League Junction Jack Division with a record of 49-51.
In the top of the second, Louie Culley had a big bases-clearing triple off John Patterson. With the triple, the Madison shortstop put his team in front, 3-0. He was 1 for 4 with a triple. He drove in 3 runs and scored once in the contest.
"That's a solid team effort right there," said Culley. "Everyone's feeling pretty positive after that win."
