Bulldogs Outmuscle DeKalb, 10-9
The rain at Earl Campbell Stadium did not keep Spokane and DeKalb from finishing their game.

Spokane beat DeKalb at Earl Campbell Stadium, escaping with a 10-9 win. The win in large part was due to center fielder Mark Acres, who earned player of the game honors. He went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The Bulldogs saw their win-loss record go to 54-45. At the same time, the Cornhuskers fell to 40-59.

In the top of the fifth, with Spokane trailing 9-3, Blair Donahue hit a cutter from Kevin Spurr for a run-scoring single, giving the Bulldogs the lead, 9-4.

"What a game," said Acres. "We needed every last run."
