Storm Troopers Fall to Mustang, 4-1
|
Pedro Robles never let the Storm Troopers get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Mustang to a 4-1 win. The winning pitcher was Robles, now 8-7. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 8. Carson City now sits in 5th place in the Ford Frick League Junction Jack Division at 47-51.
In the bottom of the 6th, Carson City took the lead on a 2-run home run by Nate Kemp. At the time, the Mustang were trailing 1-0, but Kemp's hit with two outs against San Antonio pitcher Steve Ferguson put them in front, 2-1.
"Anyone who says he's not out there thinking about personal accomplishments is not telling the truth," Kemp said later.
