Ninjas Down Hawks, 5-2
|
The Boise Hawks and New York Ninjas brought some excitement to Confucius Field.
Boise pitcher Po-sin Pang gave the Ninjas all they could handle, but in the end, New York left Confucius Field with a 5-2 win. Pang allowed 1 earned run on 7 hits over 5.1 innings. Nobuatsu Fukumoto picked up the save, his 25th.
Tadahisa Nakashima was a prime contributor to the New York win. He went 1 for 1. In the bottom of the seventh with one out, the 22-year old center fielder hit a run-scoring single. It made the score 2-1, in favor of the Ninjas.
"Some of the guys in here work pretty hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Nakashima told the New York Daily News.
New York has now won 3 straight, while the Hawks have lost 3 in a row.
