Ducks Come Back Late to Top Wolverines
Long Island starter Austin Covey had a strong outing against the Wichita Wolverines at Long Island Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 6-4 win. Long Island reliever Bruce Klein picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Wilton Hill was collared with the loss. The 6th-place Ducks raised their record to 45-50.

Long Island took a 6-3 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning, when Darren Payne hit a clutch 3-run home run to bring Ducks fans to their feet.

"Enjoyed this one," Payne told the Long Island Gazette. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
