The Sandy Springs Spartans and Phoenix Lights were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd at UFO Field.
Amarpreet Sivasubramanian made an impact in the 7-3 Phoenix win over Sandy Springs. Sivasubramanian went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The Lights sit in second place in the Ford Frick League Billy the Marlin Division with a record of 59-40.
Sivasubramanian contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Phoenix in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-1, Sivasubramanian took a fastball from Mike Taylor and stroked the home run to left. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Lights to leap in front, 3-2.
Sivasubramanian attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
