Wichita Hot Streak Continues with 5-4 Win
|
Wichita beat Carson City at Howling Park, eking out a 5-4 win. The win was due in large part to catcher Domingo Cruz, who earned player of the game honors. The wins continue to add up for Wichita, with the latest making it 7 in a row.
Cruz had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 2-0 fastball from Okakura Hirai, he banged a solo home run to right-center, giving the Wolverines a 5-4 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Cruz.
"Ah, the sweet taste of victory," Cruz crowed after the game.
