Loss Extends Boise Losing Streak
|
Cincinnati rode a fine outing from starter Noboru Kitamura to victory over the Boise Hawks at Basque Block Field. The final score was 5-1. Kitamura, now 3-0, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 8, walking 3, and allowing no earned runs. This loss makes it 7 in a row for Boise.
The Snaps beat the Hawks in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Evan Hemming produced in the top of the sixth. Batting against Boise pitcher Juan Galindo, Hemming gave his team a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run single.
"I liked his command," said Cincinnati manager Steve Nolan. "Noboru was throwing strikes."
