Wolverines Get Win, Extend Streak to 4
The DeKalb Cornhuskers and Wichita Wolverines brought some excitement to Earl Campbell Stadium.

The Wichita Wolverines bested the DeKalb Cornhuskers by a score of 9-6, with catcher Domingo Cruz getting the main credit. On the day, Cruz went 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Wolverines. The win was Edison Dickie's in relief. His record improves to 4-2. Luis Antonio Viera took the loss for DeKalb.

With the game tied, 0-0, in the top of the second, Cruz had a key at-bat for Wichita. With a runner on 1st, Cruz, who is tied for 8th in the FFL in doubles with 18, hit a 2-run home run off Luis Antonio Viera, making the score 2-0, Wolverines.

"You can't take yourself too seriously," Cruz told the Wichita News. "But at the end of the day, we do play to win ballgames."
