Maidens Stars for Wolverines in 9-5 Win
|
The Wichita Wolverines bested the DeKalb Cornhuskers, 9-5, at Earl Campbell Stadium. Colm Maidens was named player of the game. He hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 5. Freek Janszen earned the save for Wichita, his 18th of the year. Wichita now has a 3-game win streak.
One important at-bat for Wichita came with two out in the top of the third inning. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Maidens hit a 3-run home run, which contributed to the Wolverines win.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Maidens told the Wichita News.
