Earthquakes Lose Late, 7-3
With third baseman Ron Verity leading the charge, the Jersey Jesters defeated the San Francisco Earthquakes, 7-3, at Golden Gate Park. Verity, who is tied for 10th in the TML in bases on balls with 23, went 3-4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 4 runs. The Jesters raised their record to 24-16.

Tim Thompson provided some late-game drama. In the top of the eighth, with two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Thompson hit a run-scoring single. It helped Jersey take the lead and grab the win.

"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," said Verity. "But I like how we're playing right now."
