Calderón Delivers Walk-Off Win for Spartans
In a close game at The Coliseum, the Sandy Springs Spartans edged the Rock River Rats, 5-4. Sandy Springs left fielder Marc Dale earned the nod as player of the game. He was 3-3 with 3 singles. The win was Javier Peña's in relief. His record improves to 5-1. Tsuyoshi Tadokoro took the loss for Rock River. The Spartans raised their record to 43-47.

Tied up with the Rats in the bottom of the 11th, the Spartans got a boost from left fielder Enrique Calderón. With a runner on 2nd, Calderón saw a 1-0 changeup from Tsuyoshi Tadokoro and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Sandy Springs on top, 5-4.

"Exciting game to play in," said Calderón. "Getting the win makes it even better."
