New York beat Carson City on the strength of starter Matis Barrier's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 4-1 win. Nobuatsu Fukumoto earned the save, his 23rd. The 4th-place Ninjas have won 4 in a row.
Barrier made it look effortless. He scattered 4 hits over 7 innings, while racking up 10 strikeouts. The New York right-hander encountered little resistance from the Carson City hitters. His season record is now 6-5.
