Snaps Win at Long Island, 4-2
|
Cincinnati pitcher Noboru Kitamura did his part in helping his team beat the Long Island Ducks, 4-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Kitamura, the winner, moves to 2-0. He threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 3 walks. Their 36-52 record puts the Snaps 6th in the Ford Frick League Junction Jack Division.
Cincinnati took control in the top of the sixth. With no one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Evan Hemming hit a 3-run home run to make it 4-1, Snaps.
"They played a better game than we did," said Long Island skipper Bob Reece.
