Though the conditions were not ideal, the Spokane Bulldogs and Phoenix Lights came back from a rain delay to finish their game.

The Spokane Bulldogs topped the Phoenix Lights by the score of 8-5, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder Shigetoki Yamaguchi. Yamaguchi was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Bulldogs on the day. Spokane is now 51-34, Phoenix 49-36.

A crucial at-bat came with the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the sixth inning. That's when catcher Freddy Rodríguez, who is tied for 10th in the FFL with a .420 on-base percentage, hit a sacrifice fly. The Bulldogs went on to win.

In postgame comments, Rodríguez told the Spokane Daily: "Do people still doubt I give 100 percent?"
