García, Ducks Rough Up Rats

The Long Island Ducks met little resistance from the Rock River Rats, beating them 12-3 at The Rat Hole. Javier García led the way. He went 3 for 5 with 2 home runs and a triple, while adding 8 RBI and scoring twice for Long Island. Ryunosuke Ine got the win, improving to 4-5. He worked 5.1 innings, giving up 2 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 4. At 40-44, Long Island is in 5th place in the Ford Frick League Billy the Marlin Division.
García contributed when he hit a bases-clearing triple in the top of the seventh. Coming with one out and the bases loaded, the triple proved to be critical to helping Long Island get the win.
"There's still time to turn this season around," said García.
