Snaps Beat Cornhuskers, 8-5
|
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
The Cincinnati Snaps beat the DeKalb Cornhuskers, 8-5, at The Studio. The win was largely due to the efforts of right fielder Kieran Alexander, who captured player of the game honors. He was 1-2 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Cincinnati reliever Banyu Rais picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-3. Mitsuzuka Koyama was collared with the loss. Tam Bilh finished to wrap up his 1st save.
Alexander turned the game around in the bottom of the seventh. That's when the Cincinnati right fielder dialed up a 3-run home run. Just like that, Cincinnati's 5-3 deficit turned into a 6-5 lead.
Alexander said afterward that "winning is what it's all about."
The last-place Cornhuskers have lost 4 consecutive games.
