Lights Best Storm Troopers in Pitching Duel
|
The San Antonio Storm Troopers got a sterling performance from pitcher António Encarnación, but the Lights still prevailed, 2-0. Encarnación was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings allowing 2 runs. Fahad Munir got credit for the win, improving to 6-0. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 4.2 innings. Millard Dixon, credited with the save, is now 1 for 2 in save opportunities.
The Lights got a big at-bat from left fielder Robbie Colwill. For the game, Colwill went 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run single. His 52nd hit of the season gave Phoenix a 2-0 lead.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Phoenix manager Rod Allen.
Phoenix now has a 3-game win streak.
