Lights Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Wolverines
The Lights grabbed a win, 8-3, at Howling Park, overcoming a fine effort from Wichita pitcher Dennis Gregory. Gregory went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Phoenix reliever Francisco Miráz was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Dalijit Tagore took the loss. The third-place Lights are now 47-34, the Wolverines 37-43.

Stan Wallace had a clutch at-bat with one out in the top of the eighth for the Lights. Coming up with runners on 1st and 2nd and Phoenix trailing 2-1, he hit a 3-run home run.

"The beers will taste better tonight after this win," said the ever-candid Wallace.
