Adeyemi has 3 hit night, Codebreakers Move to 24-15
|
Columbus center fielder Maziba Adeyemi made his presence felt in the 8-4 Codebreakers triumph over the Manhattan Beach Patriots. Adeyemi was 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Sotatsu Hayagawa got the win, improving to 6-2. He pitched 7.2 innings, giving up 3 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 11 and walking 1. The first-place Codebreakers have a one-game lead in their division.
Though it wasn't a flawless game -- few are -- the fans who filled the stands at Central Park Downtown Stadium seemed to enjoy watching the Roberto Clemente League action.
"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," said Adeyemi. "But I like how we're playing right now."
