Bulldogs Topple Snaps, 7-5

The Cincinnati Snaps were defeated, 7-5, by the Spokane Bulldogs. Leading the charge for Spokane was catcher Freddy Rodríguez. He went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Spokane reliever Jin-yu Kim picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Shafeeq bin Nooh shouldered the loss. The save was credited to Yoshiki Sato, his 16th.
Rodríguez contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Spokane in the bottom of the sixth. With his team trailing 4-1, Rodríguez took a fastball from Shafeeq bin Nooh and stroked the home run to right. His 6th home run of the season allowed the Bulldogs to leap in front, 5-4.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Rodríguez told the Spokane Daily. "You win just by scoring more runs."
With the victory, the Bulldogs record now stands at 46-33.
