Rats Pick Up 8-4 Win
|
The Rock River Rats topped the DeKalb Cornhuskers, 8-4, with youngster Jesús González playing a key role. González went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Rats in the win. Kang-il Hyong picked up the win, improving his season record to 5-7. He struck out 5 in 7 innings. Tsuyoshi Tadokoro closed it out for his 22nd save.
González in the bottom of the third had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and the Rats leading 2-0, he hit a grand slam.
"That's a solid team effort right there," said González. "Everyone's feeling pretty positive after that win."
