Predators Suffer 3-1 Loss to Cornhuskers
|
Earl Campbell Stadium was the site of a tense game between the Topeka Predators and DeKalb Cornhuskers.
In a well-pitched game between the DeKalb Cornhuskers and the Topeka Predators, pitcher Paul Hicks was superb. The DeKalb right-hander was named the player of the game in DeKalb's 3-1 win. DeKalb's record now stands at 35-41, placing them 6th in the Ford Frick League Billy the Marlin Division.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, designated hitter Joe Vacher came through big-time for the Cornhuskers. With DeKalb leading 1-0, he belted a solo home run.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Vacher.
