The Portland Beavers picked up a win at Waterfront Park, knocking off the Mile High Mustangs, 4-2. Starting pitcher Pedro Pérez was an essential part of his team's success. The winning pitcher was Pérez, now 2-5. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 4. Toyotomi Nakano was called on to finish, recording his 11th save.
Ellis Stockdale took Elvis Callahan deep in the bottom of the second. His 2-run home run put the Beavers in front, 2-0. For the game, Stockdale was 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Pérez.
The Mustangs, now 13-26, have lost 4 in a row.
