Jesters Lose to Earthquakes, 2-1
|
In a low-scoring clash between San Francisco and Jersey, pitcher Jo-hsi Sang was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned player of the game honors for San Francisco in the 2-1 win. Earning his 12th save of the year was Jonathan Martin. The first-place Earthquakes have a one-game lead in their division.
Parking one for San Francisco was Juan López. The first baseman had a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth for the Earthquakes. It put his team ahead, 2-1, and sent them on to victory. For the game, López went 1-4 with a home run.
"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," said Sang. "But I like how we're playing right now."
