Thompson Leads Charge, New York Blasts Lights
The New York Ninjas handed the Phoenix Lights a sound defeat, 13-1, at UFO Field. Derek Thompson was a main contributor to the win. He went 4-6 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for New York. Kevin Everhart was the winner. Over 7 innings, he allowed 1 run on 6 hits, with no walks and 8 strikeouts. The Ninjas go to 41-33, putting them 4th in the Ford Frick League Billy the Marlin Division.

Flexing his muscles for New York was the aforementioned Thompson. The third baseman had a 3-run home run in the top of the first for the Ninjas. It put his team ahead, 3-0, and sent them on to victory.

"That game had disaster written all over it," said Phoenix skipper Rod Allen. "I could feel it."
