Extra-Inning Win by Lights over Snaps
|
The Phoenix Lights picked up a win at The Studio, knocking off the Cincinnati Snaps, 5-3. On the mound for Phoenix was right-hander Seong-rae An, who played a pivotal role in the win. The win was Robert Limby's in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Pedro García took the loss for Cincinnati. Vic Pilgrim earned the save for Phoenix, his 3rd.
The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Wilson Ortíz came to bat in the top of the 11th. Facing Cincinnati pitcher Pedro García, he hit a first pitch fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Phoenix on top, 5-3.
In postgame comments, Ortíz said, "I think we gave the fans their money's worth."
At 41-31, Phoenix is in third place in the Ford Frick League Billy the Marlin Division.
