Mustang Prevail, 6-5, Over Long Island
|
Despite a great performance by Long Island catcher Emílio Carrillo, the Carson City Mustang defeated the Ducks by the score of 6-5 at Cowboys Stadium. Carrillo went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Julien Caron recorded the save for Carson City, his 14th of the season. Carson City is 36-35 and Long Island, with the loss, 33-36.
Carson City took control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Shino Kikuchi hit a 2-run single to make it 5-3, Mustang.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Kikuchi, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
