San Diego beat Cabo San Lucas, 6-5. The win in part was due to right fielder Jejomar Butardo, who nabbed player of the game honors. He went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win was José Ramos's in relief. His record improves to 1-4. Mulia Kathirithamby took the loss for Cabo San Lucas. The Hops improved to 14-25.

The game was all tied up in the bottom of the ninth, until Butardo delivered big-time for San Diego, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Mulia Kathirithamby. The game-changing hit put the Hops on top, 6-5.

"We need to get rid of the bad mojo," said Butardo. "Maybe this win will help."
