Gamblers Beat Bombers, 4-2
|
Las Vegas Gamblers starter Allen Cox was in fine form against the South Carolina Bombers at Bomber Ballpark, leading his team to a 4-2 win. The winning pitcher was Cox, now 4-2. He tossed 6.2 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 7. The Gamblers saw their win-loss record go to 21-17. At the same time, the Bombers fell to 20-19.
Kawanari Takahashi delivered a big hit for the Gamblers. The veteran center fielder belted a solo home run in the top of the fourth. The longball put Las Vegas on top, 2-0. Overall, Takahashi went 1-4 with a home run.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Cox, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
