Cornhuskers Defeat Ducks, 5-3

DeKalb and Long Island duked it out at Long Island Stadium and the Cornhuskers came out victorious.
DeKalb beat Long Island on the strength of starter Luis Antonio Viera's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 5-3 win. Kevin Spurr earned the save for DeKalb, his 5th of the year.
DeKalb took a 4-3 lead on Rocky Banks's 1st hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Banks hit in the top of the seventh, left Long Island pitcher Casey Reynolds shaking his head.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Viera told a DeKalb Herald reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
With the win, DeKalb has a record of 29-38. Long Island falls to 31-34.
