Rats Come Up Short at Phoenix
|
The Phoenix Lights picked up a win at UFO Field, knocking off the Rock River Rats, 8-7. Starting pitcher Seong-rae An played a key role in the triumph. An, the winner, moves to 4-3. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 2 walks. The Lights now have a mark of 39-29.
There were several reasons the Lights beat the Rats, but one factor was Norishige Iwamoto. In the bottom of the fourth, the Phoenix second baseman came to bat and hit a 2-run single. It staked his team to a 2-0 lead.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Phoenix manager Rod Allen.
