Lights Fall to Predators, 5-3
|
It was a good time at The Field at Richmond, where fans came to watch the Phoenix Lights and Topeka Predators get after it.
Starting pitcher Dave Smith pitched well enough to help the Topeka Predators beat the Phoenix Lights by the score of 5-3. Smith went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 4-6. Petya Chajegov, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 14th save.
Toby Hone was one of the major contributors to the win for Topeka. The light-hitting designated hitter stroked a double to right in the bottom of the sixth inning. For the day, he went 1-3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI.
"Winning never gets old," said Smith.
The current losing streak for Phoenix has reached 4 games.
