In a well-pitched game between the Rock River Rats and the New York Ninjas, pitcher Kang-il Hyong was fantastic. The Rock River right-hander was named the player of the game in Rock River's 2-1 win. Rock River improves to 42-21 with the win. They lead their division by 3 games.
Gerard Vivian contributed an important at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With the bases loaded, he hit a sacrifice fly. It was one at-bat that helped send Rock River to the win.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Rock River manager John Smiley said.
