Cornhuskers Come Up Short at Madison
Yasuyuki Konno did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the DeKalb Cornhuskers from losing, 6-5, to the Madison Beehive at The Hive. Konno went 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Max Adriaens in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Ben Larsen took the loss. Tom Wilson was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 12 of 15 save opportunities.

In the bottom of the 6th, shortstop Tin-jong Yi gave Madison the lead when he hit a 2-run double. The Beehive had been trailing 5-4, but the two-out double off DeKalb pitcher Ben Larsen changed that -- and Madison went on to win.

"We found a way to get it done," Yi said.

At 28-34, the Beehive find themselves in 5th place in the Ford Frick League Junction Jack Division.
