Vu-Pham, Hitmen Fall to Jesters
|
The Jersey Jesters and Chicago Hitmen completed their game despite the rain.
Chicago first baseman Vui Vu-Pham was sensational. He belted 3 home runs, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Jersey beat the Hitmen, 7-5. Vu-Pham was named the player of the game despite the loss. Ron Anderson earned the save for Jersey, his 9th of the year.
In the bottom of the 4th, the Jesters grabbed the lead when Eugene Heady rapped a two-out double. Jersey was trailing 3-2, when Heady hit a 2-run double off Ahavaniya Masrani to put his team in front, 4-3.
"This team is on a mission," said Heady, who is one of the clubhouse leaders. "I like our focus."
The second-place Jesters now have a 4-game winning streak.
