Getting an impressive start from Adam Pitkeathy, Rock River beat Cincinnati by the score of 3-1. Rock River reliever Si-dao Chen was the winner. His record is now 3-2. Diviraj Sundaramoorthy took the loss. Tsuyoshi Tadokoro earned the save for Rock River, his 15th of the year.

Myung-bak Chong's at-bat in the top of the seventh was significant for the Rats. Coming to the plate with the bases loaded and Rock River leading 2-1, the designated hitter drew a walk, driving in 1 run.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Rock River manager John Smiley. "It's usually not just one thing."

Their 40-21 record puts the Rats first in the Ford Frick League Billy the Marlin Division.
